    written by Sylvester Stallone and Sheldon Lettich and starring Sylvester Stallone as John Rambo.  Plot summary: In Afghanistan the Mujahedeen are fighting the Soviet invasion and Colonel Samuel Tarutman [Richard Crenna] has been assigned to lead a support mission.  John Rambo, one of Tarutman's former soldiers, refuses his request to help because of his Buddhist commitments, but when the colonel is kidnapped and tortured by the Russians, Rambo changes his mind and launches a rescue mission in alliance with the Mujahedeen.
