An Original 1978 "Star Wars" KENNER TOY / LIONEL TRAINS Store Display/Movie Poster for the DUEL AT DEATH STAR Racing Set!
Beyond the amazing art, what makes this piece such a terrific winner is its extraordinary rarity and early release. I've never seen another one of these 1978 posters available anywhere! If you know anything about Kenner Star Wars marketing, you know that they almost never released advertising posters for the specific toys. This is a happy exception. They made two different formats for this campaign - a vertical and a horizontal poster. Needless to say, this is the horizontal one. Luckily, unlike the vertical poster, this horizontal was NOT issued folded. It was designed to be a shelf-talker poster or a flat wall hanging or window poster.
As you can see, the artwork fills the entire piece
, which is NOT standard for typical shelf talkers. This unusual JUMBO one also doubles as a wall hanging poster, which is very unique, not to mention very cool!

The poster is printed on heavy poster stock, and, because it was designed to double as a shelf talker, it has a light pre-stamped crease - so the poster could be inserted into the shelf stocking the toy. REMARKABLY, this example has NEVER been folded or used! The light machine-made crease is nearly impossible to see because it hasn't ever been folded.

I can't imagine a better condition one of these exists. I've actually never seen another one of these (in any condition) in over 40 years of collecting! If you're wondering where the fold would have been - it's designed to be folded
