Description
A vintageMinneapolis Honeywell ("MH") Regulator thermostat
, seller believes circa 1950, made in Minneapolis MN.
Unit is untested.
Seller acquired this thermostat himself at an estate sale some years ago, thinking it was too cool to pass over. Mounted on a wall it would make a great conversation piece!
Thermostat has a metal case/cover that shows a bit of art deco styling, and an internal mechanism that looks to be quite intact and complete. Mechanism was assembled with care, craftsmanship, and attention to fit, as screws fit flush and even the internal thermometer staples were glued in place. Note that the thermostat control operates with a mercury tilt switch. Temperature set point indicator and internal temperature setting mechanism moves by turning silvertone knob on side.
Aesthetically speaking, the condition is very good, as may be seen from the exterior and interior photos (case opens by loosening 2 small screws.) Case does show some light scratches and scuffs to its finish commensurate with its age but it is not dented, bent, or engraved. Glass
thermometer with red fill on the front does
not
work
, however, but indicates maximum temperature, and yet it is not visibly damaged or broken, so seller speculates only the colorant remains inside of it??? Case and internal mechanism are clean, just a little dusty.
Thermostat is
offered here "as is,"
which may in fact be useable, for display, or for parts-only, as buyer determines and decides. Questions? Please inquire!
