"THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES"- 1993 Movie- 10 Vintage Promotional Postcards
In 1993, the publicity department at 20th Century Fox released a kitschy-set of 10 postcards to promote the film. The postcards featured a colorful collage of images with characters from the film. Based on the popular TV series of the same name--which originally aired on CBS from 1961-1971--the movie version starred Comedian Jim Varney (as Jed Clampett), Cloris Leachman (as Granny), Lily Tomlin (as Jane Hathaway), and Dabney Coleman (as Mr. Drysdale). A cameo role by actor Buddy Ebsen---who played the part of Jed Clampett in the TV series----was his final appearance onscreen. Other cameos in the film, include Dolly Parton and Zsa Zsa Gabor.
The 10 postcards measure approximately 4" x 5 1/2 inches. The postcards are attached to each other with perforated edges. On the back of the postcards, the blank white portion offers a place for an address and a postage stamp. Each postcard says
"The Beverly
Hillbillies" and "Comin' Soon" with a copyright by 20th Century Fox Inc.
The group of postcards (now 28 years old) looks  "L
IKE NEW"
and are clean and unmarked.
